The council takes education extremely seriously, ensuring that every child has access to the highest standard of teaching.

Years of hard work have paid off across Bridgend County Borough, with students collecting another successful set of A Level and AS Level results this year.

Figures from the WJEC reveal that in 2015 the percentage of students who collected grades at A* – C rose 1.6 per cent to 65.2 per cent.

Students in Bridgend County Borough also celebrated another successful year of A level, AS level and vocational qualification results. According to WJEC (which cover about two-thirds of the total number of examination entries from schools), the overall A Level pass rate for the county borough was 97.8 per cent, which was above the national average of 97.3 per cent, while at AS Level, the overall pass rate for Bridgend County Borough was up 1.1 per cent on the previous year to 90.1 per cent, and remains higher than the Welsh average of 86.8 per cent.
